Manchester United left back Luke Shaw was seen limping following the 0-0 draw with Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.
The defender has been one of Unitedâs most consistent performers this season, featuring in all 36 Premier League matches and maintaining an ever-present record during a campaign where he has largely avoided injuries.
However, there is now concern that the issue could rule him out of the final stages of the season.
If the injury proves serious, Shaw could miss Manchester Unitedâs last two Premier League fixtures against Nottingham Forest and Brighton & Hove Albion.
Despite the setback, United have already secured a UEFA Champions League place, easing the immediate pressure on their remaining matches.
Further medical assessments are expected in the coming days as the club determines the extent of the problem and whether Shaw will be available for the run-in.
