Manchester United’s ambition to sign Bradley Barcola is at risk of collapsing as Marcus Rashford firmly refuses a move to PSG in favor of staying at Barcelona, despite interest from several giants.
According to the latest reports, Manchester United will be unable to bring in one of Europe’s top wingers today, Bradley Barcola, due to Marcus Rashford’s steadfast stance. The English striker is currently playing for Barcelona on loan (since the summer of 2025) and has delivered highly impressive performances. The Catalan club holds an option to buy for €30 million in the summer of 2026; however, they are currently negotiating with the Red Devils to lower this fee to around €20 million.
Barcola is currently being targeted by several big clubs.
The issue arises as PSG—a long-time admirer of Rashford—was willing to let young talent Bradley Barcola move to Old Trafford as part of an exchange deal. Barcola, 23, is valued at up to €100 million (£87 million) and was previously praised by Olivier Giroud for his dribbling ability and box penetration. However, Rashford has sent a clear message to MU’s leadership stating that he only wants to play for Barcelona and requested the club not to sell him to PSG or Tottenham.
Rashford’s blunt refusal makes the scenario of MU owning Barcola impossible. This puts the Red Devils in a difficult position as their Premier League rivals have begun to take action. Arsenal and Liverpool are reportedly inquiring about Barcola, while Chelsea and Manchester City are also closely monitoring the player, who has recorded 5 goals and 4 assists for PSG this season.
In addition, MU’s transfer situation faces further obstacles as Bournemouth plans to retain another star target the Red Devils are eyeing. However, they did receive a positive signal as they identified a potential candidate to replace Bruno Fernandes’ position in the future.
