Ruben Amorim has been backed to make a swift return to the Premier League.

Ruben Amorim has been tipped to make a quick return to the dugout in the shape of a Premier League job and he'd face Manchester United very soon.

Man United parted ways with Amorim following his bust-up with director of football Jason Wilcox.

He was dismissed just days after his explosive outburst during the press conference of the Red Devils' draw against Leeds United.

Despite being out of a job for just a week, the Portuguese has been linked with several managerial posts, including a Champions League club.

Amorim has also been tipped to remain in England's top flight in what would be a stunning appointment.

Sol Campbell believes Amorim is the ideal replacement for Thomas Frank at Spurs.

Pressure is mounting on Frank, who is under-fire amid Spurs' struggles this season.

Ex-Spurs defender Campbell reckons Amorim fits the bill to replace Frank, who joined from Brentford in the summer.

Asked who would be the ideal manager to replace the Dane, Campbell told Sky Bet: "Ruben Amorim.

"They’ll be looking at him. They’re probably talking to him now, that wouldn’t surprise me. I don’t think he’ll go back to Portugal.

"Tottenham will be talking to him to see if there’s any situation going on - there’ll be people talking behind the scenes."

Campbell added: "Thomas Frank is a top manager, but he’s not at Brentford anymore - it’s a different animal. Tottenham is a big club and people are demanding.

"They want success and they want to keep moving forward in a successful way. So, I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re talking to other managers.

"Obviously, if he starts turning it around and winning games and having good performances, that helps.

"Sometimes you don’t need to win, but if you can have good performances and show you’re moving in the right direction, that can help.

"But they will be talking to other managers. It’s part and parcel until you show who you are and start winning on a regular basis."

Spurs occupy a spot in the bottom half of the league, with just 27 points on the board.

And they suffered FA Cup elimination on Saturday, losing 2-1 at home to Aston Villa.

As things stand, Spurs are 11th in the Champions League standings, having won three of their six games.

Frank will have to turn his side's fortunes around or risk losing his job amid a run of four games without a win across all competitions.

Ruben Amorim ‘In Line’ for Immediate Return to Management Days After Man Utd Axe

The Portuguese was sacked by Man Utd earlier this week.

Ruben Amorim could soon return to management just days after his Manchester United sacking.

Amorim, 40, was sacked by United on Monday (January 5) and left the club in sixth position, having guided the Red Devils to a record low 15th position in the Premier League last season.

The Portuguese exited Old Trafford after a reported fallout with the club’s hierarchy. The dispute was related to transfers and Amorim’s favoured 3-4-2-1 formation.

The 40-year-old reportedly saw his contract paid up in full following his departure, meaning he received around £9.25 million as a result of him being contracted to United until June of 2027.

And despite receiving a hefty amount, the Portuguese is now linked with an almost instant return to the dugout at a huge European club, but this depends on the future of another well-known head coach.

According to talkSPORT, current Benfica head coach Jose Mourinho is under pressure at the Estadio da Luz, with Amorim a strong contender to replace him.

Mourinho signed a two-year deal at the club in September and has since led the side to 14 victories from 22 matches.

However, the former Chelsea boss reportedly has a clause in his contract that would allow him to leave in the summer.

A previous report from The Guardian revealed that the “clause would allow the club or Mourinho to end his deal in the 10 days after their final game of this campaign”.

Benfica currently sit third in the Liga Portugal but trail league leaders Porto by ten points after 17 fixtures.

Of course, Amorim already has a connection with the club despite recently managing rivals Sporting CP, as he played for Benfica for nine years between 2008 and 2017, making 154 appearances for the side.

The 40-year-old, despite failing at United, has a proven track record in his homeland and guided Sporting to two Primeira Liga titles and two Taca da Liga crowns during his four-year tenure as head coach.

Joao Noronha Lopes, who was then a candidate to become Benfica’s president, even claimed Amorim would become the club’s coach “one day” back in September.

Amorim has also maintained that Benfica are “still my club” despite managing arch rivals Sporting.

Erik Ten Hag Takes New Job Day After Man Utd Sack Ruben Amorim

The Dutchman was the United manager before Amorim took over in November of 2024.

Former Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag has landed a new job one day after his Red Devils successor, Ruben Amorim, was sacked by the Premier League club.

Amorim, 40, who was sacked on Monday (January 5), and Ten Hag, 55, are the two latest managers who have tried and ultimately failed to return Man United to its former glory.

The Portuguese replaced Ten Hag as United head coach in the autumn of 2024 but ultimately lasted just 14 months at Old Trafford and left the club sixth in the Premier League.

One thing Amorim did not achieve, though, was winning a trophy at United, which was something Ten Hag managed to do twice when the Red Devils won the 2023 Carabao Cup and 2024 FA Cup.

Despite signing a new deal at United following the Wembley triumph over Manchester City in May of 2024, Ten Hag was sacked after the side won just three of their opening nine games in the 2024/25 campaign.

The Dutchman, who previously managed Ajax and was a coach at Bayern Munich, has since managed Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen but lasted just two games of the German league season before he was given his marching orders on September 1.

127 days on, he has now landed a role at Eredivisie club FC Twente.

In a club statement, the one-time Dutch champions confirmed that Ten Hag will join on February 1 and has signed a contract through to mid-2028 to become the club’s technical director due to current technical director Jan Streuer being scheduled to retire at the end of the season.

Ten Hag previously held a coaching position at the club and made 257 appearances for Twente during his playing career.

The 55-year-old will start work ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.

Speaking to the club’s website, Ten Hag explained: “I think it's wonderful and special to return to FC Twente, where I've been a supporter at Het Diekman since I was a young boy.

“My football and coaching careers began here. With my experience in youth development, team building, and elite sports culture, I want to strengthen FC Twente's technical foundation together with the Supervisory Board, management, and staff, so the club can sustainably realize its potential as a regional flagship.”

General manager Dominique Scholten said Ten Hag and the club had been in “regular” contact for “several months” before his appointment.

"Erik has an incredible track record in football, and his bond with FC Twente has always remained very strong,” Scholten added.

“At FC Twente, he served as youth coach, head of academy, and assistant coach, and subsequently as head coach and technical manager at renowned clubs, both nationally and internationally. We've been in regular contact over the past few months, and our conversations quickly revealed a strong ambition to further develop FC Twente. This ambition aligns with the strategy we recently presented. We are raising the bar and further professionalizing the football organization. We took the first step in this direction last year with the arrival of Tim Gilissen."

Ruben Amorim is Still 'Under Contract' at Man Utd Despite Being Sacked

Manchester United sacked Ruben Amorim on Monday morning.

Ruben Amorim is reportedly still under contract at Manchester United despite being sacked.

On Monday morning, the Red Devils confirmed that Amorim had departed the club.

Appointed in November 2024, Amorim led United for 63 matches, with a record of 24 wins, 18 draws and 21 defeats, which equates to a win rate of just 38.10 per cent.

Confirming their decision to make a 'reluctant' change, a statement from the club read: "Ruben Amorim has departed his role as Head Coach of Manchester United. With Manchester United sitting sixth in the Premier League, the club's leadership has reluctantly made the decision that it is the right time to make a change. This will give the team the best opportunity of the highest possible Premier League finish.

"The club would like to thank Ruben for his contribution to the club and wishes him well for the future."

The club went on to confirm that ex-player Darren Fletcher, who had been coaching the U-18 side, will take charge of the first team in their next match against Burnley on Wednesday.

Hours after Amorim's sacking, it has been claimed that the Portuguese's contract will remain valid for 18 months.

Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano wrote on social media: "Rúben Amorim remains under contract until June 2027 at Manchester United.

"The decision today was NOT mutual, he didn’t quit or decide to part ways — as it was 100% club's decision.

"Amorim’s contract remains valid for 18 months unless there’s new club to appoint him in the meantime."

Looking ahead, the likes of Oliver Glasner, Gareth Southgate, Xavi Hernandez, Zinedine Zidane, Enzo Maresca and Laurent Blanc have all been linked with a move to Old Trafford.

It has been claimed that United could wait until the summer to appoint their next manager, which will be their 11th since Sir Alex Ferguson retired.

Man Utd Staff Stunned by What Ruben Amorim Did Leaving Carrington for Final Time

Manchester United confirmed Ruben Amorim's departure on Monday morning.

Manchester United staff were reportedly left stunned by what Ruben Amorim did when he left the club's training base for the final time.

On Monday morning, United announced that Amorim had left Old Trafford after over a year in charge.

Taking to the club's official website, United said: "Ruben Amorim has departed his role as Head Coach of Manchester United.

United are set to take on Burnley in the Premier League on Wednesday night, with U-18s coach Darren Fletcher taking charge at Turf Moor.

In the hours after Amorim's departure was confirmed, it has been claimed that United staff at the team's Carrington training ground were left surprised by how the Portuguese acted during his final time at the facility.

According to the Daily Mail, staff at Carrington were left surprised when they saw Amorim and his coaching team laughing and joking as they left the training ground.

The report stated: "Certainly, staff at Carrington on Monday were surprised to see Amorim and his coaching staff leave the training ground laughing and joking, the scowl of recent days long gone.

"He is free now and it’s time for United to move on."

Since Amorim's departure, Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner has become one of the favourites to take over, with the likes of Gareth Southgate, Xavi Hernandez, Zinedine Zidane, Enzo Maresca and Laurent Blanc also linked with a move to Old Trafford.

Amorim leaves United after taking charge of 63 matches, with a record of 24 wins, 18 draws and 21 defeats, which equates to a win rate of just 38.10 per cent.

The highlight of his tenure will be leading the Red Devils to the UEFA Europa League final during the 24/25 season.

However, Amorim's men were beaten 1-0 by fellow Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur.
